I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST

What does it actually mean to say we believe in Jesus Christ? It is one thing to repeat the words, but something far richer opens up when we begin to explore who Jesus truly is. Drawing from the opening verses of John chapter 1, we are invited into one of the most profound declarations in all of Scripture -- that the Word was present at the beginning, that the Word was with God, and that the Word was God. This is not a gentle introduction to a historical figure. This is a bold, uncompromising claim about the nature of Jesus Christ. He is fully God, which means the salvation He offers is not the work of a good teacher or a moral example, but of God Almighty Himself stepping in where no one else could. It took a perfect, sinless, spotless sacrifice to deal with the debt of human sin, and only One qualified. As we sit with that truth, our faith stops being a casual habit and starts becoming something we can anchor our entire lives to.
