What does it mean to have a seat at the table with Jesus? In this powerful exploration of the Last Supper from John 13, we are brought face to face with one of the most sobering contrasts in all of Scripture: twelve men who shared the same meal, the same teacher, and the same extraordinary privileges, yet walked away with completely different eternities. Judas was not an outsider. He was chosen, empowered, trusted, and even served personally by Jesus, who washed his feet and handed him the sop, a gesture of honor and friendship. Yet despite every warning and every act of grace extended to him, Judas walked away from the table and into the dark. The spiritual lesson here cuts deep. Proximity to Jesus is not the same as surrender to Jesus. We can sit in the right room, hear the right words, and still leave unchanged. The table is set for every one of us, and the question this message presses us to answer is not whether we have a seat, but what we do with it.
